Apparently it takes longer to sign a book deal than it does a record contract.
after the deal gets done, then the real waiting begins..."let’s see here...we’re looking at putting that book on the pub list for fall 2010...assuming we run into no delays...”
Wow, that must be frustrating.
Not really. The waiting gives me time to think about what I want a publisher to do for me. I don’t think I thought as thoroughly about what a record should be doing before signing with one. Maybe I wouldn’t have had I pondered long enough to ask harder questions. Who knows? I’m grateful for the time to think about this next step, it’s giving me important questions to ask before signing.
It took me a while to get a publishing deal, and in hindsight I’m so thankful. God had the perfect plan and I’m very happy with where I ended up.
It’s wise not to rush it. There’s a lot to think about and consider.
