07.28.08 Me, My In-Laws And The Nature

Ben and I woke up before God this morning - God’s approximate wake-up time is 4:30AM Texas time - and flew home from Florida.  We did this so that I could have a couple hours to unpack, repack, blog this here post for you all, load the mini van up and drive to east Tennessee.

My family, Brian and his wife Amy (my wife’s sister) and their kids, Kathy (the other sister), and my in-laws are heading to the Chattanooga area to live in a cabin in the nature for the week.  My wife has planned this excursion and promises there will be a hay ride through an apple orchard, a river to raft and horses to ride.  There will also be fantastic food cooked by my mother-in-law and at least one mean game of cards played after the kids go to bed.

I will spend much time in the nature.  Walking in the nature.  Sitting in the nature.  Smelling the nature.  Taking pictures of the nature. Getting wet from the nature and generally enjoying the nature.

In the nature there are no cell phone signals and there is no internet access.  I will post again when I return from the nature on Friday August 1st.  Until then, visit these fine blogs I’ll miss reading this week.

Shaun, you do know that Brant declared July a blog vacation don’t you?  Okay, to be fair, he has posted like five or six times since then, but still . . .

For the love of pete I hope you didn’t forget your monkey alarms. They are essential when one is in the nature, as Shannon and I will attest.

Sophie is always the practical one - definitely will need some monkey alarms in the nature around Chattanooga.  Might need some monkey’s uncle alarms and a few barrels of (monkey) alarms while you are going alarmist.  Sounds like fun - most of it - the bugs and no internet don’t sound so fun but I live in the country - so getting away from it all - means being outside my house.  Live it up Brother Shaun - not so far you cain’t live it down.  Internet or no - somebody will have a camera around there!

Hope your camping experience turns out better than others I’ve read about this summer.

You’re my last hope for camping redemption.

Three things:

First; who is “Pete” and why does everyone seem to do things for his love?

Second:  I really wish I was spending a week in a cabin; close to nature; even with monkeys and said alarms.

Third:  I will instead spend this week in counseling trying to recover from the fact that my blog is NOT one Shaun will miss reading.

I love Chattanooga!  My husband and I went there for our honeymoon, and we had a wonderful time.  We stayed downtown, but I’ve also stayed out “in the nature” before, and it’s lovely.  Chattanooga is a fun city, so I hope you all have a great time!

Shaun! Hi, im a fan. I was also bossed around by your mother when i was little. lol Mrs Marsha always had a nickname for me and my sisters at daycare, mine was squirt. My mother worked with your mother at little red school house for several years. Just wanted to say thank you for choosing a path in christian music when so many people are going secular because it “makes more money” or whatever. I love your music and good luck with your Walk.
