08.15.08 Me And Minnesota: Day 1

Somedays (well, most days) my job is easy.  Too easy.  Like today. I played five songs and then I talked about Compassion International and asked the crowd to raise their hand if they wanted to sponsor a child.  A lot of them did.

Two little girls, for instance, told their mom they didn’t want Christmas presents this year because they already had enough stuff.  They wanted mom to sponsor a child instead.  And she did.  Not sure how I feel about that...a mixture of awful and inspired I think.

It was good hanging out with you, Minnesota.  Even if you don’t serve funnel cakes.  See you again tomorrow.

That’s quite a large crowd there. How many people?

About the two little girls - just be glad - kids really can understand the difference between having stuff and caring for others - good job Shaun - looks like quite the gig!-

that story about the little girls gives me hope....i bet they still get something for Christmas.  Generosity of spirit inspires generosity.  And even if they don’t, I hope they have awesome relationships with their sponsored children.

Minnesotans prefer their cholesterol in it’s natural forms… miniature donuts with two pounds of sugar on them, corn dogs and bacon…
