So, someone wasn’t amused by my post about Mercy Me’s new blog. It’s a good blog. My friend Brody built it. Check it out.

Someone thought it was in poor taste when I linked to that picture of Mercy Me’s tour buses and scooters - the picture I got from Mercy Me’s old blog that a member of Mercy Me wrote. That was poor taste! What was I doing on their old blog when their new blog clearly rocks much harder?? My friend Brody built it. Check it out.
My post was wrong - I suck. Especially the parts where I linked to Mercy Me’s ministry partners and called them great guys I’d like to tour with, and said I liked them, and said my mom does too - all those bits kinda wreaked of wrong to me too.
She does, by the way. Like them. My mom does. Really. That was no joke. They’re her almost favoritest. And now my mom is so happy because she can read their new blog! It’s a good blog. My friend Brody built it. Check it out.

"I can only imagine” what it will be like when someone realizes that widdle kitty cat is about to eat that pwecious widdle ducky wucky. Of course that response is probably already “spoken for”. Will the “word of God speak” or will someone rebuke you? It seems like most people respond “in the blink of an eye”. Kind of makes me “homesick” for a time before the impersonal world of the internet when people would be less apt to shoot across the bow since they were “here with me”. I guess that is because when someone is there with them, they can say “so long self” and be polite.
Just my thoughts. I kinda thought it was funny. I also knew you were being sarcastic since I already saw the link to them.

Sometimes taking ourselves less seriously frees us up to love and good deeds. Sometimes I’m not doing love and good deeds because I’m so wrapped up in all the small things that rub me wrong - anger is a mirror not a window right?

Well you said “anger is a mirror not a window,” I think that anger is only an outward response to something going inside. So you said it’s a mirror, I agree that it is a mirror when we are ready to look at the cause. To others, it is a window that lets them see there is something going on inside that may come out as anger, jealousy, petty crap that seems petty but might have a bigger root that needs to be addressed. I often use sarcasm as an outlet to cover what I truly need to express, and that is not healthy. But this isn’t a perfect, but a broken world right? Not saying I know all the details, but it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to put two and two together.

Gotcha, Shawn. To the angry person, then, anger can keep them from seeing the world around them and instead cause them to be more self-centered than when they aren’t angry: a mirror. But to those around them it is a window that allows us to see that something might be broken inside the angry person. Gotcha.
