04.10.08 A Parable

imageOnce there were two travelers from Tennessee on their way to the Hanes Art Center at the University Of North Carolina.  They woke up early, took a plane ride, drove a car, and finally arrived at the large university.

The two men marveled at the size and beauty of the campus, the old dogwoods and oaks, the rolling hills, the majestic stone and brick structures speckling the grounds for miles, one after another.

How we will find one building in all this, the two men thought.

They decided the simplest solution was to simply ask a student.  Students live here, they reasoned.  They walk this place every day.  A student will be able to give us directions.

The men drove slowly, looking for a student who appeared wise.  Wisdom was not in short supply, for very student was carrying a backpack full of wisdom.  And every student’s ears were also plugged with tiny white earbuds or covered by a cell phone.  It was ears they lacked.

-----------

Thanks to Intervarsity at UNC for having us, answering your phone when we needed some more specific direction, and for sponsoring 10 kids tonight.

Did you forget that your favorite person from Burlington went to school there for 8 years???  A simple call would have fixed the problem.

Actually, I meant to leave you guys directions to the building and forgot!  I am a stinky host, huh?!?

So the word(actually it was an email) is out that you will be playing at The Bridge Anderson on April 20th.  Exciting stuff.  If you get to have an in depth conversation with Chris Mishler(the pastor), do.  Can’t really explain why, but I think you’d walk away glad you did.

If you don’t know much about Anderson, and have any questions about the area, give me shout.
