I really liked your article about modern vs. traditional worship. One thing that I’ve noticed over the years is that we need different types of worship, because any one person is completely unique in how they feel love the most. Some people like traditional worship services, some like modern worship services, and some like both, enjoying type one on one day and the other type on the other. For example, depending upon how my week has gone, I will like one or the other. We need different types of worship, because that is the only way to reach out to every person in the world.
The article also brings up a good point about music. I believe that, as long as music has a Christian message, it is good music, no matter how that message is expressed; whether it is expressed as pop, rock, heavy metal, gospel, oldies, country, or another form, it is all good music. Different types of music will comfort me the best at different times. For example, I love listening to your “Twilight” CD whenever I am depressed and need some slower music. I love “White Flag” and “Invitation to Eavesdrop” whenever there is any average day that I just feel like listening to music that has a variety of tunes. When I am stressed, I enjoy listening to hard rock and rap like Demon Hunter and DC Talk. As long as the music has a Christian message, the music is good, because many varieties are needed to reach out to many different attitudes and types of people.
