Hahaha thanks you guys!!! 
My day was mainly spent in a classroom learning how to work pension cases… ick. We have more training tomorrow.
But at least a few of my closest co-workers got me a card, a balloon and a bag of Twix bars (which were waiting for me at my desk this morning) and they got me a chocolate fudge cake to eat during lunch. It was really really nice of them and unexpected (I was hoping for a card but the balloon and candy - AND cake - were all a surprise!)
My best friend from college is coming down to the area for her Christmas break (she’s in grad school) and she’s spending some time with me tonight, then she’s coming to my birthday party on Friday night and spending the night. My birthday party should be fun - I invited those co-workers, plus a fellow Hollins grad (who is also working at the VA now) and the plan is to watch Disney movie(s) and listen to music that was popular when we were in middle school (BSB, Jock Jams, that kind of stuff).

). The funniest thing was when my kitten tried to play ping pong with us. She’d never done this before and actually, she’s kind of good! She does catch/bat down the ball often--makes playing a game tricky! ha ha Thanks again for remembering my birthday and making it extra happy!
