Hey,

I was wondering if there were any plans for a new shaun groves cd. i really like the music and would love to find out what the plans are!

I’m so glad you asked as I know Shaun is working on his new album and book and I was wondering if there is a release date yet?

Um, no is the short answer.  Here’s the long one.

I have tons of finished music and scraps of lyrics.  I’m not as prolific as I once was - mostly because I’m trying to make something better than I have in the past and might just be holding myself to too high of a standard.  Might?  Hmm, probably.  OK, definitely.

But music is coming.  I just won’t make a prediction right now about when it will be recorded.  WHEN it is recorded the plan is to make it free to everyone - no strings attached.  And that will happen here of course.  So watch the blog and I’ll post songs as they’re completed and announce - eventually - how to get a free copy.

The book was on, then off, then on, then off and is now on again.  It’s slated to release in late 2009.  No specific date has been set by the publisher, which is Broadman-Holman.

Thanks so much Shaun for letting us know your plans.  Please keep writing (both music and your book)!!  Some of the songs you’ve posted so far are among your best.  I really like “Maybe”.  Also, I’d love to promote your music to more people and I’ve been writing a bi-weekly devotional called “Behind The Song with Kevin Davis” Behind The Song “Rich Young Ruler” by Derek Webb and of course I want to feature you in the near future.  My top 3 favorite songs of yours are “Here I Am”, “Jesus” and “Welcome Home” so please let me know if you’d like to participate.
