I thought it would be nice if we each made a list of the top three (3) songs that God has used to minister to us the most.  (If you absolutely can’t decide on three, more or less is accepted ;^)).

In no particular order, here’s my decided three…

“You’re Glowing” The Elms
This song has really helped me through my teen years, as many times I have wanted to run away, yet I couldn’t, so this was (and still is) a song of hope for me.

“Shine On” Needtobreathe
Wow, this is such an encouraging song for many reasons.  I can’t explain it all, but in short this is just the song I need as I go through a spiritual crisis of sorts.

“Falling” PFR
A simple cry..."help me I’m falling down”.  So powerfully sung, straight from the desperate soul, this song has somehow helped me pray through temptations and fears.  A true blessing from God.

So how has the Lord spoken to you through music?

Mary Ann,
I love this topic.  Sorry I haven’t been paying closer attention to the board in awhile.  I’m glad it’s still here :0)

Here are my top 3 songs that have ministered to me.

1)Here I Am-Shaun. My favorite song ever. Based on my favorite passage in the bible, Isaiah 6.  I love Shaun’s heart and message and this is my most played song.

2)Lover-Derek Webb.  My favorite Derek song. Written in the person of Jesus talking about how he came to set us free.  Very powerful.

3)A Better Way-Downhere.  My favorite Downhere song.  Wow!  What a reminder of how powerful the Love of Jesus is in our lives.

God Bless!

I have found a new song that had already ministered to me quite a lot.  Tenth Avenue North has become one of my top favorite bands, and their latest single “By Your Side” is one of those songs that I have to stop and listen to every time I hear it on the radio, ‘cos it’s just packed with everything I need to hear the most!  I put the lyric in the lyrics thread.
So I guess that makes this my number 4 song.  smile
