Shlog Section-f

All I can say is SWEEEEETNESS!!! So far everything is amazin’. I love the fast post and spell checker those are really really go for me. Anyone else? Comments? Loves? Hates?

It’s different… I miss the colors from the other board, and I’m not too fond of the gray.  It’ll just take some getting used to.

I’m liking the newspaper look.

I’m glad I got a bit of a head start on the board because I was very disoriented at first.  After five years of moderting phpbb2 boards, I felt so lost on this one!  The buttons are all different.  And you all know how much I like pushing buttons.

hm...nope...at least not with the IMG tags phpBB2 uses…

We’re working on adding the ability to post images *within* the post. And I’ll also add some new smilies at some point, but it will probably be a week or so (maybe sooner if someone wants to research free-use smiley image sets). IM, PM or email me if you find something.

I like this board.  It will take some getting used to, but it’s nice!  And it’s fun to see all the familiar faces.

one more...is there a button somewhere to go straight to the newest post in a topic?

I like the set up of the new board. The board seems more visitor friendly.(I hope that makes sense). I love the fact that there is a spell check. Now if I just will remember to you it.

I’ve asked kat to make a couple changes to the board you might notice:

1. That “notify me via e-mail when someone posts in this thread” box you see when writing a post will be changed to NOT CHECKED by default.  Same thing for that little button in the comment area of the blogs.

2. The ability for posters to change colors and font sizes in their posts is going bye bye.  One reason for this change is that so much of what gets posted here shows up in the FROM THE BOARD area on the various blog and tour pages.  And when a post that’s had a color or font size change gets displayed elsewhere it includes all that code that was used to make the font change.  It’s alien all of a sudden.

Any other changes you’d like to suggest?  We’re all ears.  Ok, well not ALL ears but a sizable percentage of us is ear and is listening.

Regarding item 1:

Let me clarify that each USER needs to change their preference regarding the email notification.
1. Just click on the link at the top that says “YOUR CONTROL PANEL”
2. Click “EMAIL SETTINGS”
3. Uncheck “ Enable email notifications by default when you post messages”

Menu options at the bottom of the screen would be great so we don’t have to return to the top of the screen to return to the forum area(s).  Also, having what we’re replying to in the bottom so we can scroll down would be great.

1. I’ll talk to Shaun about putting forum links at the bottom.
2. There is currently a THREAD REVIEW button at the bottom of the reply page that will reveal the previous comments. Are you wanting something different than that? If so could you clarify for me?

What happened to the scroll-down menus for font colors and size?  I came back on here after dinner and was looking for those easy ways to change the font… Not like it’s a big deal to write out the tags myself, lol, but I was wondering what happened to them!

I totally missed that till I scrolled up after posting.  Nevermind!

It was kind of fun to have different colors though.
