Hey everyone,

Would you mind praying for a friend? She has a lot of people concerned for her. Sheri struggles with depression and I believe that she may be suicidal (based on a message I received today), however, I haven’t been able to get a hold of her. (I have called and went by her place.) She doesn’t think, based on her message, that she’s worth anything and that she’s gone too far for Jesus to take her back. Please pray that if she is suicidal that she’ll accept help, in the past she hasn’t been willing. Thank you for your prayers for her.

Sincerely,
Noelle

I’m praying, too, Noelle.  Sorry I didn’t see this sooner.  Keep us posted, okay?

Prayers, please.  One of Cam and Justin’s friends (Kale) died in a tragic car accident yesterday afternoon.  He lost control of the car (he was alone in his vehicle following another car of friends) and went into the other lane where he had a head-on collision with a truck.  He died at the scene.

We go to church with them, his parents are in our Sunday school class and Ken plays basketball and softball with his dad.  Our families have spent much time together.  Cam has played basketball with him since 4th grade and Justin played soccer with him.  He was a wonderful young man!  Please keep all of us in your prayers.

I’ll add to the list if that’s OK.

My nephew, John, had his ileostomy reversal surgery yesterday and was able to come home today!  Yeah for that.  Please continue praying.  While some tests show absolutely no cancer cells present, others are somewhat unclear.  He’s half way through his chemotherapy and 12 weeks to go.  It’s going better as things progress.  He is frustrated with not being able to work at least part time.

On another note, my brother-in-law (John’s dad) is really doing poorly and will have to begin dialysis very soon.  He is going through the process to try to find a kidney donor now and is feeling very guilty, undeserving, and unworthy of receiving one, much less asking for one.  My sister is not a candidate and neither is their daughter.  They are both very upset about this as they were both hoping to be considered able to donate.  My husband and I and possibly our son will try to become candidates as well.  Please be in prayer for all of us as God’s will is sought and decisions made.

Beth

I’m so sorry I’m late getting to these prayer requests. For some reason when I’ve been coming to the message board, it hasn’t been showing up that there were new posts on this thread. :(

Good thing for Facebook--Cristy, I was looking at the pictures and praying for Kale’s family and yours. I was especially thinking about his brother, and what that must be like for him right now.

Beth, I’m glad John was able to have the surgery and is home! I’m praying as he continues the chemo. And I’m sure praying for John’s dad. It’s hard to have close family members both so sick.

Thank you for all the prayers.  Beth, I’m praying for your family, too.

Nancy, you mentioned Kale’s brother and what that must be like for him.  He’s going to miss his little brother, but they seem to be at peace, because they know Kale is with Jesus.  Their entire family is doing remarkably well, in my opinion.  I have never seen strength like this before!  His mom was ministering and witnessing to hundreds of teenagers.  The line from the back of the church to the front was approx. 3 hours, because she took every teen in her embrace and spoke to them about Jesus!  His dad could use some extra prayers because he and Kale were so close and were almost always together, and although he knows Kale is with Jesus, he seems to be mourning in the way I think I might, a little more tearful and at a loss in general.  Our men are going to surround him in the coming days/weeks/months to make sure he doing alright.

My boys seem to be doing okay, it was a little difficult at church yesterday morning, Kale was the subject of all their conversations and they were a little less talkative yesterday afternoon, more thoughtful I guess.

Thank you everyone for your prayers!

Cristy, I’m glad Kale’s family is doing so well right now. I’m glad too that they’ll have your family and other friends to support them as time goes by, when the shock and numbness and initial strength wear off and grief sets in. They sound like a terrific family.

say, is this like a new prayer and praise thread or have we gotten confused?

If you would I’d like to ask for prayer for my Poppop (grandpa) to be strong physically, b/c he’s had heart troubles since he was 19 and he’s dealing with cancer, and a bunch of hernias that can’t be repaired b/c he might not survive surgery, but now he might need surgery for something new that’s wrong with his heart so please pray for that (it can also be praise that he’s lived this long!).  I think he’s a Christian, but I’m not 100% sure.  His wife (my grandma) is not.
At the same time, his brother (my great uncle) has also had heart problems this past year and is in the hospital with kidney failure.  I don’t know where he stands spiritually.
Thanks.  I’ll try to remember to pray/praise for ya’ll too.
