Have you all heard the breaking news that Ana Nicole Smith died?

She was one of those lost souls that I’ve been praying for, for a while.  What a tragic life, smeared across the tabloids. I wish it hadn’t ended this way.

I finished watching True Story, went to check my Yahoo mail, and saw the news.  It seems kind of suspicious… her son dying last fall, the whole paternity test for her baby recently… very very strange.  And sad.  I didn’t think highly of her, but I’m sad that she died and I’m praying for her family.

I just hope they don’t make it the focus of the news for too long…

Remember back in 1997, when Princess Diana died?  Mother Teresa died the same week.  It was barely mentioned.  It was all about Princess Di.  I mean I was sad about it, obviously, and she did do some good in the world (I vaguely remember something with mines?) but Mother Teresa devoted her life to helping others, and her death was a passing note.  I mean, I don’t want to compare people and say one is better than the other… but it seems the media focuses on so many people (Paris Hilton, Anna Nicole, Britney Spears) and it’s like “why are they famous?” Other than being born into family fortune or marrying into it or being scandalous…

Ok, I didn’t mean for this to turn into a rant and detract from Anna Nicole and her death.  It’s just interesting looking at the media and society and see what they focus on.

so...this might be a horrible thing to say, but this is going to be a much better thing for that baby of hers.  i couldn’t even imagine what it must be to have grown up with her as a mother...sorry if it’s an insensitive thing to say...i mean i’m sorry for her family that they lost her and all, but in the long run i think that baby’s life is going to be much better.

I agree.  While it’s definitely a sad thing that she’s passed away, hopefully this little girl will grow up with a good role model (whoever that may be, considering this whole paternity test business).  And later on when she’s older learn about Anna Nicole and learn from her mistakes.

a big part of me hopes that the courts or whoever needs to decide where dannielynn goes, decides to put her with her grandma.  ANS’s mom seemed like she was down-to-earth and realistic about life - she even travelled to the bahamas to try and find the baby...so far no luck (as of 20/20 tonight).  but i really think that it might be best for the baby if she’s raised by her grandma...cause it seems as though vergie (anna’s mom) had warned anna about what she was doing and who she was hanging out with and stuff...and had tried to get her to change her ways…

The same time Princess Di died and Mother Theresa died, we lost a great Christian singer/songwriter named Rich Mullins. You didn’t hear anything about him in the news.
