I need prayer. I need advice on what to do. I am currently serving on a Christian School Board where my two kids attend. Our family loves the school and our kids have been there for seven years. But being on the board I see what really goes on and I have seen in the last few months some things being handled in a very unbiblical fashion, but made to look biblical. One of those things is ocurring at the present time, and I find it very unsettling, and sad.

Without going into all the details, some of the things are so “unchristian like” that I am now looking at my position on the board and wondering if I should remain there. Should I stay and speak the biblical truth, or do I resign my position so they will be united. Sometimes it seems scripture is being used out of context to justify decisions/actions, and then when questioned, they can defend it by saying it was scriptural. These are people who I once thought highly of, but now seeing them in a different light, and I’m not so sure what I think now.

I have been praying and searching the scriptures for something that would give me a clear cut answer on what to do. Anyone have any words of advice?

Thanks

Hi CCT,

I’m so glad you posted here.  I’m thinking on this and I’m praying for you.  You are definitely in a difficult spot.  It can be kind of intimidating to be the lone voice when the rest of the world seems crazy.  I’m asking God to give you peace about what to do, and that if you feel led to speak up, that He’d give power to your words and that the spirit in them would cause them to see their actions and thinking measured up against biblical standards and would be convicted to change.

Please keep posting and let us know how this goes.

Thanks so much for your prayers. This morning I met with the administrator and assistant administrator to voice my concerns.

I’m a very non-confrontational person, but God gave me the words and the right attitude in approaching this matter. They both were very open to hearing what I had to say and seemed gracious that I cared enough to point out what I didn’t think was biblical. I’m not sure they totally agreed. I had to really debate my point, which is totally out of character with me. Perhaps it will give them something to mull over today.

The situation in question is now resolved, not to my liking, but now I believe we must move forward and not make the same mistakes again. Always looking to the Bible as our ultimate “policy manuel”.

Thanks again for your prayers on this matter!
