^^ I like the songs “Come Undone” and “Amazing Grace” by Jackson Waters. The lead singer also has a nice voice.
Oh, happy day! Tim Hughes sounds just like the Delirious? dude.
Oh, happy other day! I learned recently that Andrew Peterson is planning to come to my church sometime in December. I’ve volunteered to help with the “logistics” that people are always talking about when they talk about bringing a concert to town!
*Happy*
Let’s talk about fave music videos now.
As usual, in no particular order:
Fearless—Building 429
Speaking In Tongues—The Elms
Kountry Gentlemen—Family Force Five
Typical—Mute Math
Existence—Kevin Max
Meltdown At Madame Tussauds (sp?) and other videos by—Steve Taylor
Broken World—Across the Sky
Mary Ann,
I like your diverse taste in music and good for you about Shaun coming close enough for you to go see him. I really love the Jackson Waters “Come Undone” CD. Great music and lyrics. They’ve been compared to Maroon 5 and Coldplay (good comparisons) and also to The Afters and Needtobreathe (also good comparisons). We don’t have the Gospel Music Channel on my cable (I’ve signed petitions) so other than the Wow DVD’s, I don’t get to see many music videos.
I’ve seen “Typical” by MuteMath and some older videos that I like are “Cry out to Jesus” by Third Day and “American Dream” by Casting Crowns. Hopefully I’ll get the chance to see all of those videos. Family Force 5 really rocks, there is some great new music this year.
I don’t get Gospel Music Channel, either. I don’t even have cable or satellite! But I stay up really late on saturday night occasionally to watch the following Christian m/v shows:
The Zone (latest music, m/v’s)
One Cubed (interviews, m/v’s)
Acquire the Fire (no m/v’s, but still good)
Rochouse Cafe (not my fave, but m/v’s usually okay)
Bloodstream TV (The best one of them all, in my opinion. Worth staying up past 3:00am to watch. Fun show hosts, great m/v’s)
These are the shows I watch. I often like to record the cool m/v’s so I can watch them more than just once. Amongst my most recent collection are American Dream and Come Undone. I also recorded when Mutemath went on the Late Show recently.
If you don’t get any of these, you could also just look up the videos on Youtube. Music videos are often able to be found there.
Thanks for those tips. By really late Saturday night, I’m guessing you mean way past when I fall asleep in my comfy chair at 10 p.m. and drag myself up to bed (3 young daughters will do that to you). Back in the day, I was a music video junkie so I’m glad to see that’s still cool. Unfortunately most of the great entertainment websites are blocked by my work internet server so I can really only do work stuff and Shaun Groves.com Apparently, they haven’t caught on to how much time I waste on this site yet. Otherwise, my number of posts will take a huge hit. Thanks again for the recommendations, I do have DVR (like Tivo) so I’ll try to record some of those shows.

Yeah, it is pretty late. Or early. At that point in the night it could be either.
I used to do it like every Saturday, but I get tired more easily now, so I only do it every once in a while, and just watch the music videos I already have during the week. I don’t have any tivo or tivo equivilant; I just do it the old-fashioned way.
Do you have a computer with internet at home, or maybe a library close by that has computers you could use?

About The Elms:
I mentioned them in another thread or two, so I thought I’d say some more here. :o)
I first heard of the band when I saw the Music Video for Speaking In Tongues, and I just knew immediately that that was exactly my favorite style of music. The Elms have been in my top three favorite bands ever since, spending most of their time at the very very top. (I don’t talk about them much, cuz rarely do I find someone else who actually knows who they are and likes them.)
Switchfoot rocks. I like the sound of Oh! Gravity, especially that funny BONG-BUNG-BONE piano thing after the first chorus of the first song, you know what I mean? Ha
I’ve never been a huge fan of Reliant K before, but I’m really impressed with the recent change they’ve made. They’re getting pretty good. I’ve especially been learning to appreciate the creativity of their lyrics. This is the full lyric to my favorite Reliant K song:
I just wasted ten seconds of your life.
Isn’t that Brilliant?!?! I mean really, how many people would even think to do something like that??????? I love it!!!!!
I totally agree about Relient K. I was hooked from “Charles in Charge” and “Hello McFly” from their debut album (you can tell I’m an 80’s guy). However, my favorite songs are “Forgiven”, “Who I Am Hates Who I’ve Been” and “Those Words Are Not Enough”. Here’s my favorite part from “Those Words Are Not Enough”:
I just got to see Leeland and David Crowder Band at a BIG concert earlier this month, and THEY WERE TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!!!!!! Leeland puts on a very passionate show, and DCB is lotsa fun as well. Sanctus Real was at the same place, but me and my friends missed them, unfortunately. Oh well. That is beside the point. Point is, IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!!!
In “WHAT’S YOUR GENRE?” I mentioned that NEEDTOBREATHE was officially in my top 5 favorites. So here’s my top 5 most consistant faves:
#1. The Elms
#2. Sanctus Real
#3. Leeland
#4. PFR
#5. Needtobreathe
Runner-ups are:
Shaun Groves, Mute Math, Switchfoot, Downhere, Andrew Peterson, & Steve Taylor.
Other: various hip-hop & emo/hardcore artists like KJ-52, Between The Trees, and Underoath.
