I’ve noticed a bunch of us are big fans of Andrew, so I thought “hey, might as well start a topic about it!”

So here it is.  The Topic.

I like his music and lyrics and sense of humor.  I love the song The Havens Grey.  My youth leader introduced me to his music, and soon after that she introduced me to the man himself.  That was fun.  He told us a story about a woman whose last name was Smelly-Rankins (seriously!).  I own The Far Country, & I like it a lot.

So what do you think about his music/lyrics/etc?

Seriously, one of my absolute favorite lyricists ever. His songs blow me away! A few favorite lines:

They walked in the rain of His mercy
Let it soak them down to the bone
And they splashed in its puddles
And danced in its streams as they’d go

And Jesus chased the moneymen
And he chased his Father’s will
He chased my sin to Calvary
And he caught it on that hill

And if a man has got to listen to the voices of the mob
Who are reeling in the throes of all the happiness they’ve got
When they tell you all their troubles have been nailed up to that cross
Then what about the times when even followers get lost?
‘Cause we all get lost sometimes…

There is more
More than all this pain
More than all the falling down
And the getting up again
There is more
More than we can see
From our tiny vantage point
In this vast eternity
There is more

Sorry, got a little carried along. I left out several, because I wanted to quote the whole song!
