question I don’t know whether or not this is the most appropriate place to ask this, but I have a question concerning concerts.
How does it happen?  I mean, how does a church or other venue get an artist to come?  I was told by someone in a band called The Elms that if enough people contact a venue saying they want a particular band to come, then the venue contacts the artist and they work out all the logistics (something like that).  I’d like to know what those “logistics” are, exactly how it all happens.
My church has concerts occasionally, mostly with independent bands, but Todd Agnew and Anthony Evans have both played at my church before also.  I’m just really curious about it all, so if anyone has a good answer, I would really appreciate it.  smile

Can’t say how all concerts work, but if you’d like to book Shaun, click on the “book Shaun” box in the “Tour” section.  Fill out the short form and Brody will contact you about it.  Relatively painless procedure.  Outstanding outcome!

Mary Ann, Beth’s absolutely right.  We try to make the process very easy.  ALl that needs to happen is that someone who wants to promote a show (handle all logistics, sound and travel details, food and hotel arrangements, publicity etc) clicks on that little button on the tour page or e-mails Brian Seay (booking guy) directly at .  (Brody road manages and doesn’t do the booking - that’s still Brian)

Once we hear from a would-be promoter, Brian gets in touch and explains what all’s involved in doing a show, makes sure the expectations and needs of the promoter line up with what I can do and do well, and then, if it’s a good fit, he sends me an offer with all the details on it.  I check my calendar and make sure I think it’s a good fit and if everything looks good to me I e-mail him a big fat “yes.” Next thing you know, the promoter has a contract in their inbox; they sign it and get it back to Brian and pay a deposit (if there is one) and that’s that.

The tour I’m on right now is free to promoters so it’s even simpler: no deposits, no balance due at show time, no flights to pay for.  Just a hotel room and a meal - that’s the only expense to the promoter.

It looks like we’ll be doing another tour like this one starting in May.  It’s not final, but if you’re interested you might want to go ahead and get in touch with Brian now.  When we booked this current tour there were more than fifty promoters that got left out - we’d booked the entire tour before they could get in touch.

Thanks for stopping by, Mary Ann.  What part of the country are you from?

I’m from Florida, somewhere in the lower part of it.  I’m just a teen, but I’m friends with a bunch of leaders at my church, so maybe I can convince them and get their permission to try and get ya to come, Shaun wink that would be fun.

Thankyouverymuch!

p.s. “The Hummingbird Agency” has a nice ring to it cool smile

We’re in Florida a lot.  We draw he most people anywhere WAY-FM can be heard.  They do a great job getting the word out about our shows.

Check the blog (shlog.com) today and you’ll read about a new free concert offer good from May to August.  Pass that info along to your church, since that’s the cheapest way to get me in concert at the moment.

Thanks.
