Beth, I agree on Casting Crowns’ live disc.  They actually caught flack (flak?) for it being rushed to stores and not glossed up enough - flack from within their label, that is.  Once you sell a million of anything all the flack disappears mysteriously wink

I’m not a big fan o their music but I dug the live disc BECAUSE it sounded live.  I respect them for being themselves, and not a bunch of studio musicians, on that album.  That is a glaring exception to the trend.

(By contrast, I sang on a certain former boss’ live disc and was amazed at how much was added to the end product.  “I don’t remember that instrument being there!")

Hi Shaun, Actually it was Kevin (shaunfan) who made the comment about Casting Crowns Live from Atlanta instead of Beth (Grovesfan), and I can see the confusion with our similar viewpoints (and choice of logon names).  As a follow-up to my comment, you are absolutely right about how selling 1 million of anything creates a revisionist history review and I did look up the original Christianity Today review http://www.christianitytoday.com/music/reviews/2004/livefromatlanta.html and although it’s a different reviewer than yours, the sentiment is similar in that it sounds raw (which we all prefer) and if it weren’t for the DVD that came with it, probably would have gotten less stars.

Therefore, in my opinion you are in good company with your review and well on your way to selling 1 million copies of “One Night in Knoxville” cheese

ALL CDs HAVE BEEN MAILED...for about a week now, at least.  I don’t know; I’m bad with time.

Thing is, you should have all received your discs by now.  If you haven’t I need you to let me know so I can get you one.

Becky says they were all mailed by 2.20.  There ya go.  The accountant has spoken.

So let me know if you haven’t received yours.  or PM me your address and real name.

Thanks,
the management

Why in Heaven’s name would we want to do that? Why would we want to make your job easier for you? *sarcasm intended*

Hmmmm. Nothing in my mailbox yet. But see, I told my mailman about “borrowing” my stuff before he delivers it.

“No, Mrs. Tyler, those were NOT green beans from my lunch that you found between pages 22 and 23 of your February issue of Scrapbooking for Overcommitted Women Magazine.”

“No ma’am, I did not listen to that Michael Olson pre-release CD that your friends at Rocketown sent you.  But I do recommend the third song.”

“No, I swear, I did not open that Christmas photo from your friends Cheryl and Duke.  But boy, their youngest sure has big feet, doesn’t he?  Wonder where they found those cute booties of his in...what does that look like to you...about size 15?”

Nancy,

If he “borrowed” this cd, you’ll never get it back!  You’ll be able to tell right away though because everytime he visits your house, he’ll break out into uncontrollable fits of laughter recalling the “caucasian fade” and the “I have 7 kids” cuts.

Shaun,

Have you let Gabriella listen to the new cd yet?  Has she started the lawsuit for royalties?  Just wondering if you plan to pay her off in “redneck popsicles” as usual.

Beth, great line regarding Gabriella.  My girls love this CD and love that reference before Twilight.  Again, tying in to the blog comments regarding not getting radio airplay, it’s a shame as the CD has fantastic “realness” to it that so few songs on the radio have these days.  Great, great CD!!  We’re singing Abba Father and Here I Am at my Small Grp this spring from the CD.

Theyyyyyy came!

It took 22 days to get from Spring Hill TN to my undisclosed location in the metropolitan Washington DC area (I’m in a bunker with Dick Cheney shhhhh!).

As our Lois would say:  Yayness.

I now have some musical catching up to do.....

He could’ve delivered them personally at that rate!  As for being with Dick Cheney, I hope you play the cd for him.  It certainly would help his image to say he listens to our Soft Rock Star!

I got mine awhile ago, but I just want to reiterate that it’s -such- a great CD. I put it on my iPod shuffle a few weeks ago. And what do you know, “Miss Texas” JUST came on! :-D

Shaun and fans,
I sincerely feel this is the best live Christian CD ever.  I don’t know how many copies have been sold however I’m trying to get the word out and fellow “shaun fans” you can post on some music websites (2 examples below) that people can read about Shaun’s CD & then direct them to shaungroves.com to help him in his ministry.

ONIK reviews on Newreleasetuesday.com

Kevin’s Top 10 Live Christian CD’s of 2000’s on Amazon

So far, 171 people have read the Amazon list and 2 other people on NRT also gave ONIK a 5 star review.  In light of Shaun’s post about the demise of the record label & Shaun being independent, I think we need to help direct people to shaungroves.com from other music websites.  Any other ideas?

Sincerely,
Kevin Davis (shaunfan)
