Would you rather have snow or ice in your area?

I generally enjoy snow more, because you can have fun with snow. However, if I have any deadlines that I am stressed about, I like ice, because it is more likely to cancel school.

Snow, definitely.  You can make snow angels and snowmen and igloos.  With ice, you can slip and fall on your bottom.  And that’s no fun.

Definitely snow.  Ice is my enemy since I fell on it three times last year.  It hastened my shoulder surgery which was no fun at all.  I will admit though that it does make beautiful scenery when the sun reflects off it in the morning.

It is about a toss up between the two.  One of the funnest time I have ever had was when I was living in central Ill.  After one of the ice storms we had, a group of us went out to a large parking lot and tied a rope on the back bumper on a pickup.  Then a person would cause the pick up to do donuts in the parking lot, while someone on a inner tube would be hanging on to the rope.  I am surprise that no one got seriously injured.

big surprise  Thomas, that sounds like something my teenagers would like to do.

I prefer snow over ice… and it would sure beat all this RAIN we’re getting right now, too!  rolleyes

SNOW

For the past 3 days we’ve gotten nothing but ice.  very VERY little snow.  So all the roads and grounds and trees are ice.  Although the trees may look pretty, they aren’t so pretty when they’re falling down all over the place.  So yeah snow is definately better… and easier to deal with when getting into your car.. haha

I change my answer from “snow” to Lois’ answer wink

If I had my own universe, the weather in a typical year would be as follows:
-somewhere between 70-80 degrees, sunny or partly cloudy, for about 11 months out of the year
-the remaining month, cold and SNOW.  Not necessarily snowING the entire time, but snow on the ground so I can play in it!
-Then it goes back to spring, instantly, when I get tired of the snow and the cold smile

I think it should be illegal for it to be cold without snow, actually. That way if it’s cold, there’s something to make up for it.  There’s a reason for it.  lol.

I like the cold much better when there’s snow too.  It started flurrying here a bit ago with the temp around 8.

Most definitely I prefer snow.  It seems to me that whenever it’s cold, it SHOULD snow.  But that hasn’t exactly happened in Indy this year!!

(But still, yay for snow showers, flurries, etc...!)

i prefer anything that is frozen precipitation right about now.

seriously.

they told us last night that we’d have 1-2 inches of snow with a little bit of ice covering when we woke up this morning.

what did we get?  NOTHING.  not a single flake fell, it seems.

and i want snow.  so i’m really praying that it will snow when i go to visit DC in a few weeks.  for reals.

Same here.  There was an 80% chance of snow, and it was supposed to start at 9am here.  I woke up at 9, looked out the window, nothing.  So I went back to bed, and got up at 10.  Still nothing.  NOTHING ALL DAY, actually.  What’s funny is that all these schools canceled (the school I work at was delayed, so I still had to work this afternoon, but interestingly enough there were a LOT less kids than usual!) and all that happened was a couple of flurries.

I was looking forward to the snow… according to weather.com we’re supposed to have a wintry mix tonight, but they were wrong about the snow, so who knows if 60% chance actually means anything…

turns out the county i almost live in (i’m about 500 feet from the county line) was closed yesterday due to the lack of snow.

but it’s snowing right now, and sticking.  so most is well right now.
