My Three And Yours

I thought it would be nice if we each made a list of the top three (3) songs that God has used to minister to us the most. (If you absolutely can’t decide on three, more or less is accepted ;^)).

In no particular order, here’s my decided three…

“You’re Glowing” The Elms
This song has really helped me through my teen years, as many times I have wanted to run away, yet I couldn’t, so this was (and still is) a song of hope for me.

“Shine On” Needtobreathe
Wow, this is such an encouraging song for many reasons. I can’t explain it all, but in short this is just the song I need as I go through a spiritual crisis of sorts.

“Falling” PFR
A simple cry..."help me I’m falling down”. So powerfully sung, straight from the desperate soul, this song has somehow helped me pray through temptations and fears. A true blessing from God.

So how has the Lord spoken to you through music?

Today, one of my all time favorite musicians has a new website (about time), is working on a new unnamed album, and more importantly had started to blog. Ginny Owens has entered into the blogging world. YAY!!!! I know that she will be successful with this because she tells great stories and at time very funny jokes during her shows. I hope that you will take the time to stop by Ginny site and give a shout out.

Yay! Let’s talk about our fave bands and artists that we think are the coolest and want to talk about but can’t start a whole thread about each one so we can just come here and be happy!!

So what are we waiting for??

I’ll begin with Sanctus Real and Leeland.
They are two of my all-time favoritest bands, and get this: They are both supposed to be at Night of Joy in Orlando this year, both on the same night, and even better, the same night my youth group is planning to go to it!!!! AWESOMENESS!!!!!!!

“Tell Me What You Know” by Sara Groves

Sara is my 2nd favorite Groves and my overall favorite female Christian singer/songwriter. She has outdone herself in my opinion on “Tell Me What You Know”, which is saying a lot considering the quality of her work to date. To me the standout songs are “When The Saints”, “Song for my Sons” and “I Saw What I Saw”. What do others think of Sara’s new release?

Check out the attached article from CMSpin about “The Altar and the Door” by Casting Crowns. The last time I remember this much buzz about a new Christian album placing this high on Billboard’s Top 200 chart (#2 in the 1st week with 129,000 copies sold, behind only High School Musical 2) was in 1998 with “Supernatural” by dcTalk. Good for Casting Crowns. They deserve this type of exposure and who knows, maybe music fanatics like me who see this album ranked #2 in the top 200 will check them out and get to know our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. This album is a great testimony for Christians and seekers alike. What do you all think? Shaun?
