If you’re new to this message board community, I wanted to invite you to listen to True Story Radio.

It’s a topical, weekly, one-hour show with a mix of music and laughs, discussion and interviews that you may not find on your local CCM-format radio station.

You’ll hear a big variety of music, including rock, singer-songwriters, bluegrass, jazz, urban, pop and even some CCM classics.

The thing I like best about producing True Story is that YOU shape what True Story Radio sounds like. The weekly topics come from what we’re passionately talking about here and in other online communities and from the news. The songs are from your list of favorites or new tunes that you’ve just discovered. During the show, many of us come back here to this thread to discuss what we’re listening to together. True Story is very much an extension of this community.

For the last two years, True Story has aired in the Washington, DC region on the secular, free form station WEBR and online at http://www.fcac.org/webr . We have active listener-friends in about 30 states and a handful of countries. And we’re working on plans to bring True Story Radio to a round-the-clock, online channel of its own so you’ll be able to tune in whenever it’s convenient for you.

But in the meantime, I hope you can carve out some time to listen to True Story Radio online, Thursdays @ 3pm eastern/2pm central on http://www.fcac.org/webr .

Prayer Request

Hey everyone,

Would you mind praying for a friend? She has a lot of people concerned for her. Sheri struggles with depression and I believe that she may be suicidal (based on a message I received today), however, I haven’t been able to get a hold of her. (I have called and went by her place.) She doesn’t think, based on her message, that she’s worth anything and that she’s gone too far for Jesus to take her back. Please pray that if she is suicidal that she’ll accept help, in the past she hasn’t been willing. Thank you for your prayers for her.

College Church-plant

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to ask for prayer. We’re in the process of planting a college church at a local university. The main pop. of the students are commuters w/ the large portion of them being unreached by any campus ministry. We’re located in the Bible belt, but the feeling toward “church” here by much of the students is hostility, but they’re open to talk about spiritual things.
We’re getting ready to (prayerfully) start the first Bible study ("seeker-friendly") and I’ll be meeting with some members from the sponsor church soon about being a part of the core group. God is really opening doors for this and to be honest, parts of it are as scary as heck! I’d really appreciate your prayers and I’ll try to keep you updated with what God is doing. Thank you very much!

Prayers and Thanks

This is the thread for sharing things you’d like other people to pray for and for things you’d like to say “Thanks God!” about.

Hope it’s ok if I start…

My 13 and 11-year-old nephews lost one of their dearest friends this week when she died of cystic fibrosis. The boys are in a lot of pain but are trying to find some hope in Jena’s loss. She told people that she felt her life was meant to bring people closer to God. And my older nephew, who shared the difficult bond of life threatening health problems with Jena (he has juvenile diabetes) has been inspired to urge people to do more to help fight these diseases.

Could you please pray for Jena’s parents and older brother (who also has CF) and for my nephews as they attend Jena’s funeral today and deal with the hard loss of their friend?

I am not sure how many of you have received this scam e-mail, but I was surprised when I received it today.

Fox example submitting invalid records or applying after the deadline.

That sad part of this is that the e-mail came with a dot gov e-mail address.

I find that I am getting more and more of these types of e-mails. It saddens me that someone might lose everything if they were to reply to one of official looking e-mail.

So, have any of you received an e-mail like this?
